This dotted rug was handwoven by Zahra, the leader of the weaving association, and three other artisans.
Marmoucha, a village located in the North of Morocco, sits just south of Fez. Marmoucha is in the region where the infamous Beni Ourain tribe once lived.
Marmoucha is both the name of the village as well as rug style. This area produces some of the strongest wool of all of Morocco which allows their rugs to be extra plush and soft. This piece was woven with 100% locally sourced, undyed wool.
It feels just as cozy, plush and soft as it looks.
